Crystal Falls is a pretty popular trail in the Annapolis Valley. Especially during the summer months when people are able to swim and jump off the top of the falls. We took the kids to walk the trail and decided to bring the stroller, just in case. Our youngest ended up walking about half the trail on his own. Our 3 year old on the other hand was having a hard day and just not into it at all. Until we made it to the falls. Then she happily threw rocks into the water and splashed to her hearts content. All three made the trek back in soaked clothing, which meant their was a lot of complaints on the way back. They quickly climbed into their seats once we arrived back to the car and had a great nap on the drive back home. Not every hike is sunshine and rainbows but the more we get out and the more we go at their pace, the better it gets. 📍Hopewell Rocks, New Brunswick @thehopewellrocks @parcsnbparks When we decided to take the kids on a road trip through NB, we knew that we wanted to check out Hopewell Rocks. The paths are so well maintained that it made for a great, easy walk. They also have a shuttle service that will take you to the main attraction, which makes it more accessible to everyone! We arrived at the rocks as the tide was going out and thought about waiting to go check out the beach. During low tide, you're able to explore the sea stacks up close. However, our three little ones are not the most patient... so we just ended up heading back to the parks playground. If you venture inside the visitors center, you'll find a restaurant, gift shop, and exhibits filled with information about geology, whales and local Mi'kmaq legends. This provincial park has something for everyone, making it an ideal destination for all families! 👉 Make sure to save this for your trip to New Brunswick!

3 MUST-SEE WATERFALLS IN ICELAND 🇮🇸 📍 Skogafoss - This massive 62 meter (200 ft) high and 25 meter (82 feet) wide waterfall is located along the southern coast of Iceland. Just a 2 hour drive from Reykjavik, it's easily accesible by car. - This is also a great spot to spend the night if you plan on camping during your trip. - Legend has it that a chest of gold is hidden behind the waterfall by a Viking settler named Tharsi Thorolfsson. 📍 Haifoss - Towering at a height of 122 meters (400 ft), this is one of Iceland's tallest waterfalls. - Getting to this one requires a bit more effort and driving along a dirt road for about 7 km. The gravel road was in pretty good shape. We came across all kinds of vehicles in the parking lot from tiny cars to larger campers. - You can view the falls from a path very close to the parking lot or you can follow the trail down the hill to get to the bottom and see the falls up close. There were a lot of people at the top and we only met one other person hiking to the bottom. It was well worth it! 📍 Kvernufoss - Neighbor to Skogafoss, these falls offer a much quieter experience. You park near the Skoga Cultural Heritage Museum and follow the trail for around 20 minutes. - It's a smaller waterfall at 30 meters (98 ft) tall but it's no less impressive. We loved being able to enjoy the falls with fewer people and that you're able to explore behind it similarly to Seljalandsfoss. - As with visiting Iceland in general, waterproof clothing is recommended! 5 Beaches to visit in Nova Scotia: 1. Morden - This spot is a local favourite. (I actually grew up right down the road!) There are multiple places to go down to the water, so you most likely will be able to find a quiet spot for yourself. We love visiting the little community park, then heading to the beach to eat our lunch. It's also a beautiful spot to watch the sunset! There are a couple of outhouses if you need to use the washroom and a few picnic tables. 2. Beach Meadows - This one is a newer favourite of ours. The white sand is beautiful and the kids really love playing in the waves. Just take note that the water is pretty cold. Although the kids never seem to mind! I fins this spot is usually less busy than some of the other white sand beaches on the south shore. (@visitnovascotiasouthshore) There are outhouses, bathrooms, picnic tables and a small playground near the parking lot. 3. Baxter's Harbour - When the tide is out, you are able to explore tide pools and get up close to the amazing waterfall. This is another place that gives you a great sunset view. If you have smaller kids, I suggest bringing a portable potty for your visit. 4. Rissers - One of the more popular beaches to visit in the summertime. We really enjoy going to walk the boardwalk and look for shells. This is a provincial park so you gave full restrooms with showers, campsites, playground, picnic area and canteen. 5. Kingsport - A red sand beach just outside of Canning. It offers a beautiful view, easy walking (other than the mud), bathrooms and an ice cream shop. The tide rises and falls very quickly here so watch the time to plan your visit. What beach would you visit first?? We didn't have to stress about changing plans due to weather warnings – we simply chose a safe, alternate route and explored another part of the country. 👉 Picture this: whipping up lunch at scenic lookoff points or trailheads, all from the comfort of your own van. It was so convenient for us! 👉 Waking up to breathtaking views just outside your window is pure magic. Our first morning in Iceland was spent at a campground along the coast. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset over the ocean and woke up with a hot cup of coffee. Those slow mornings made the whole trip more enjoyable! Another night, we spent at Skogafoss. We had a prime spot with a gorgeous view out the back and the falls to our right. Bonus - we were able to see the falls without the huge crowds! 👉 Relaxation comes easy when you have everything you need at your fingertips. No need to rush or worry about check-out times – just kick back and savor the moment. Our kids loved being busy on this trip. Every morning they would ask us what we were doing that day and never complained about being in the car for too long. Spending so much time on the go and outside, meant that our kids slept great and they rarely argued! It was really a fun time for all five of us 🥹 Day 1: Mastadon Ridge, NS + spent the night in Shediac, NB Day 2: @magnetichillzoodemagnetichill + @placeresurgoplace + another night in Shediac, NB Day 3: @parcsnbparks Dickson Falls + Hopewell Rocks + spent the night at @holidayinnexpress | @hiesaintjohnhs Day 4: Irving Children's Forest + spent the night in Pokemouche, NB Day 5: @aquariumnb + spent the night in Amherst Day 6: @shubenacadiewildlifepark We are looking forward to seeing more of @destinationnb next time we visit! What's a trip to Yarmouth without a visit to Cape Forchu?? We took a walk along the Lief Erikson trail, which is at the bottom of the lighthouse. This trail is 1 km and offers panoramic coastal views. kids loved exploring, seeing the whale bones and especially the lighthouse. They kept saying how beautiful it was there! Guided tours of the lighthouse are offered from May to October and we will definitely be doing one once the kids are tall enough. Don't forget to save this for your trip to Nova Scotia! 📌

Our last stop in New Brunswick was to visit @aquariumnb 🦭 The kids had so much fun checking out all the different species, playing their magnetic snakes and ladder game and of course watching the seals be fed. If you're heading out to explore @destinationnb, I highly suggest adding the aquarium to your itinerary! It was a perfect end to our time in the province! . . .
