Best Western Plus Newport Mesa Inn

Well, as recently been upgraded, and that is obvious from walking into the lobby, the staff was very friendly. The location is great and parking is good.

We had a horrible experience at this hotel because of the floors in the rooms. There was no carpeting. Everything was linoleum. My husband is handicapped, and the linoleum floor presented a huge problem. There was a gesture on rollers that he sought into which slid across the chair he fell on the floor and could not get up. We had to go and get stuff to help us. The staff came to help us. There was no incident report that was filed. we told the staff that the biggest problem with the hotel was there needed to be carpet on these floors as it is a hazard to people who are handicapped and elderly no one addressed this issue. I asked if they were planning on putting carpet in the rooms. They said that the linoleum was due to a recent remodel and they didn't know what they were doing yet. It's a really nice hotel but this was a dealbreaker and a liability.

Room smelled like a garbage truck, noise from the rom next to ours transferred completely as if the people were in the same room with us. Front desk person was rude, we were asking common questions like if he needed our passports and his response was unnecessarily rude. Just because something is ok in price does not mean it has to be a bad stay. Would not recommend.
