Jeff and Donna love to travel whether it is locally in Southern California, taking road trips throughout the United States, and traveling abroad. When not traveling, they live in a small cottage on Vinyard and Avocado ranch on the Central Coast...
We were looking for a reasonably priced hotel not far from the beach, with a good rating. This hotel fits the bill. We were greeted by Norm who was gracious and helpful. Our room was on a corner with windows on two sides which made the room feel airy and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The large couch was comfortable too, which is a rarity. A coffee table would have made a nice touch. A small refrigerator and microwave were provided. The bathroom was roomy with everything you need. The breakfast the next morning was abundant with everything you crave from waffles to eggs and sausage. The cafe had plenty of seating with an outdoor seating option as well. We love the underground parking option, especially in the hot summer.
We live nearby and still go to the Cliff House Inn for staycations. There is no other place along the central coast that provides a little old-world charm with the dramatic coastline on your doorstep. If you are looking for something different and out of the normal hotel stay, try this place. You will go to sleep listening to the waves lap aside the cliff and wake up with the stunning view of the Channel Islands. You can feel the history of the hotel used by generations of visitors. Perfectly located between Ventura and Santa Barbara. Also, within a 5-minute drive of the fun little beach town of Carpinteria. Where you can get an ice cream cone at one of Julia Child's favorite places "The Spot" and eat it on the "World's Safest Beach" The best part of the complimentary breakfast at the Inn is sitting outside enjoying the view. There is a terrific restaurant within the facility (make reservations ahead).
