We booked Via Mare Luxury Rooms in Split, Croatia, because of the option of having a jacuzzi in our room and the great location. With many beaches in the area being pretty public, we wanted a spot close to the beach where we could still enjoy some privacy, and Via Mare fit the bill. The modern design and cleanliness were on point, but unfortunately, our jacuzzi wasn't changing temperature, which was a bit of a letdown. The hotel doesn’t have a traditional front desk, but there’s someone available during specific hours to assist and clean your room. The location was perfect for us—right by a club, which added to the nightlife experience. If you’re into that scene, you’ll love it. But if clubs aren’t your thing, Split might not be the best fit. Overall, Via Mare Luxury Rooms offers a stylish stay with some great perks, but it’s not without its quirks.

Our stay at Kore Tulum Resort was a mixed bag. The bar, pool, and all-inclusive perks were the highlights, and being central to downtown Tulum made it easy to check out the local scene. The staff was friendly and did their best to make our stay enjoyable and the jacuzzi in our room was tight! Unfortunately, we came across a few issues. We had a power outage, and the resort blamed the city, though everything seemed fine when we went into Tulum. The customer service was frustrating to deal with (didn't follow through with a refund), and we noticed some rust around the property, but that part is pretty common for beaches. If you're after a good bar, nice pool, and a central spot in Tulum, Kore Tulum Resort could be an option, but be prepared for some hiccups.
