Rooftop was nice
Check in and the room was not available on time.
Nice room Huge bed
Breakfast delivered to bar but i had to get it when it was not delivered..was already luke warm. Bar man was very abrupt. Only then he started to make our coffee.
Good location very easy
Pool was closed because they were shooting a commercial on the hottest day of the year!!! Would probs avoid this place because of that!
It was good. Great location 2 stops from Manhattan and in a happening part of Brooklyn. Great Gym. Spacious rooms. Very little noise from the street. Nice lobby.
The staff doesn't have the service flair you'd expect from a "4 star" hotel. They're typically NYC blase, not friendly nor unfriendly, just doing their jobs. Other reviewers called them rude, but they obviously don't know what rude means in the local culture. This is just neutral.
My experience at the rooftop pool cocktail lounge Aliya was fantastic! 10/10 However that was the single highlight of my stay. I wanted to love this hotel, but I simply did not enjoy my stay.
For starters, I was not informed that the pool facilities are 21 and older after 1pm. So of course I went up to the pool with my mother and little brother to be sent away. Super unfortunate especially for the price of the stay. 9am-1pm is a bit crazy but I said alright, seems as if this entire hotel is focused on adult vibes and entertainment. On to the food. I was pingponged with various staff members about room service that it took almost 2 hours in total to EAT. First, my room phone was no working at all. So I said to myself let me call the hotel from my cellphone. The WiFi was SO terrible, I could not make a call and even when I switched over to my cellular data the reception in the building is terrible! I then proceeded to go downstairs. I inform front desk and he offers to send someone up but to be quite frank everyone working just had a very lackadaisical aura I was worried I would not get someone to come up for a while. I ask about room service from the restaurant CONTINENT, also located within the hotel. He says alright and points me in the direction of the bar within the lobby across from reception to make the order. Now my observation without being told was it appeared to me that each of these bar/lounges/restaurant within the hotel complimented each other, however operated separately. That said, I turn and ask are you sure I can place a room service order from over at the bar from Continent restaurant? He confirms and directs me again to the bar. I walk over and the bartender acknowledges me and proceeds to mix and serve the drinks she was preparing and then got to me for my order. Not problem, I wait about 10 minutes for her to finish, just for her to then come over to take my order just to be told not only it’s not possible to order a room service Continent Restaurant order with her, but that Continent does not do room service period. Ok. Walks over to Continent just for the host to be no where found for about 10 minutes.
The pool, the location ,clean
The air conditioning was like being in a jet engine, so noisy couldn’t sleep well , there was no controls to switch it off or down. The decor / layout was badly designed and with sliding doors that slam / toilets located right next to the bedroom so you can hear everything your partner does. Thin walls meant we had to endure the neighbours gangster rap music & freak-off partying.
They wanted $200 PER NIGHT deposit which was no where listed on bookings. Many people on reddit said they didnt receive it back
Location, pool
Unfriendly and disinterested front office staff
