I am a mom of two boys and a middle school teacher who loves to travel and explore. I feel like I have only touched the surface of awesome places to visit around the world but some of my favorites so far have been Curacao, Paris, Nicaragua, Isra...
I recently stayed at Soundview and it was the best of both worlds for a stay in Greenport. Every room has an ocean view and a balcony and with the beach right outside your door and a pool, you are all set to enjoy the summer sun. This hotel offers more outdoor amenities than others but is a little further out of town. This didn’t stop us from using the complimentary bikes from the hotel and making the 20-minute ride into town. This is a perfect amenity, instead of driving or Ubering back and forth. The hotel room was spacious for me and my two friends and the service was excellent. I have eaten at their restaurant, The Halyard, before and the views are breathtaking. The complimentary breakfast, pool bar, and piano bar make this hotel an all-around perfect stay for a weekend retreat to the North Fork!
This last time I went to Charleston with my husband we stayed at the Mills House and it was great! This is one of the oldest hotels in Charleston but has recently undergone a renovation. The pink building is classic Charleston and the location is ideal, in between King Street and Meeting Street, walking distance to all the local attractions. Mills House also has a beautiful rooftop pool and many outdoor areas to sit in and enjoy a morning coffee. Speaking of coffee, the hotel also has a coffee shop called The Black Door Cafe and a restaurant, Iron Rose, with a great outdoor dining area. We enjoyed our stay at Mills House and would stay there again. Our Uber driver told us there were many ghosts in the hotel, but we never encountered any supernatural sightings and enjoyed watching the Ghost Tours right outside our hotel!
Cliff House has amazing views from every room! Sleep with the door to your terrace open to hear the ocean breezes. Lounge by the pool, eat at one of the 3 restaurants, grab a coffee at the on-site coffee shop, and just enjoy beautiful Maine. Close to the town of Ogunquit which offers so many cute shops, restaurants, and great beaches.
