Mercure Hotel Bielefeld Johannisberg

Breakfast was good. Staff was friendly. Room was big.

The floor looked very dirty. The bathroom had a terrible smell that didnt go away during the entire week. The hotel is quite remote and there are no lights when you take the (steep!) direct route from the city center.

Location, view with terrace and beds + bathroom, breakfast, nice staff, tv channels from diverse countries, close to climbing forest.

Fridge did not work, almost no signal when calling on the phone or using internet, bar closed in the evening / night, no drinks in the fridge.

Bed was comfortable and separate duvets was nice. Location was lovely.

My son found a toenail in his bed that wasnt his and we couldnt get any shower gel out of the bottle; I think it was a new one (it was full) but it hadnt been opened properly before being fitted in the dispenser. We werent able to work out how to get it out and since we were in a hurry we didnt let anyone know. On the first stay our pillows were awful, too flat and too square. On our second stay we requested additional pillows but these didnt materialise. There was a wedding so the restaurant wasnt open, but we did manage to get food in the bar.
