The waterpark and lazy river was the best part of our stay. The room was spacious and suited our needs perfectly. The price of the room along with access to the waterpark was cost effective.
The hallways and bathrooms in the common areas smelled bad. I would walk outside on purpose to avoid the smells. The smell in the common bathrooms was like they were overdue for cleaning every time I had to use them; they smelled like urine and musty odors. This prompted me to walk back to our personal room every time I had to use the restroom. Some of the hallways smelled musty because the AC was not working at all or barely working; they felt noticeably hotter than the other hallways. The hallways that didn't smell musty had an overpowering smell of chemical fragrance as if they were trying to cover up the foul odors. For all the work that is clearly done to make this a nice property in so many other ways, these items can and should be addressed at the source to properly fix the issues, not just try to cover them up.
The property was relatively clean, spacious rooms, and the amenities were good
The staff. We were treated very poorly by the front desk receptionist during our stay when we notified them of our key card not working twice on Monday September 2, 2024. Several other guest had come to complain about the same issue but were treated with respect and received apologies for the inconvenience. When it was our turn we respectfully said that we also are here for our key card not working and the receptionists did not respond the way she did to previous guests. She immediately got rude and blamed us and said we must have had our key card next to our phone. I told her that we did not and throughout our 3 day stay the card being near the phone never made the card stop working. Other guests were complaining about the same issue and she did not make the comment to them. We felt that this could have been due to race because the same receptionist assisted us both times and was rude each time and make backhanded comments. We asked to speak with a manager and he had a very nonchalant tone offered us drink credits. We told him an apology for his associate’s behavior would have been appreciated but he was equally rude and asked if we would like to cancel our reservation. We decided it was not worth the fight and requested an upper manager’s information but of course he could not locate this information or any business cards. This was our first and last time and this resort because we do not patronize places that are prejudice to their guests. We are educated hardworking Americans and deserve to go on vacation and be treated with respect regardless of the color of our skin.

We had an amazing stay, characterized by a strong focus on family-friendliness and an impressive water park.
It wasn’t enough towels in the room.
