Royal Airstrip Hotel by Phyu Zin Group of Hotels

I highly recommend this hotel. It is very comfortable with facilities functioning well and very attentive staff. We stayed in a bungalow which was well designed with a large bedroom and bathroom, good quality furnishings, matching decore and linen with strong water pressure and hot water. The restaurant serves delicious food, the vegetable salad was excellent, well presented using fresh produce with a great combination of flavors, infusing lime, peanut oil and coriander. I would like to especially commend the front office manager for his prompt and thoughtful handling of any problems. When there was an issue with ants in the bungalow he immediately arranged a new room with housekeeping staff to assist moving the luggage. To compensate the need to pay the hotel bill with cash due to failure of the credit card machine, he took off the cost of the dinner bill! But what surprised me the most is that he arranged free hotel transport to the railway station, accompanied us and personally paid for the train tickets! This is amazing service and an example of great hospitality towards guests!

Clean and easy. Food was ok. If you're staying in Hehoe don't miss visiting their new pagoda.

Close to the airport. Personal staff very friendly. Good breakfast an free shuttle to the airport, it takes only 5 minutes from hotel to terminal. Nice pool area.

Location next to the highway, basically nothing around, only reason to stay is if you need to be in the airport early morning.

Location was perfect for us - convenient to airport for early morning flight. Staff was super friendly.

Heater/aircon in our room malfunctioned and beeped all night. No way to shut it off. Restaurant is outdoors, so cold in the morning at breakfast.

This seems like a new place with mainly empty rooms. My room had a nice bathroom in which they provide soap, lotion, shampoo but not in individual plastic containers(hooray!). Though bed and pillows are not very comfortable, my room did have a small porch with table and comfortable chairs. The landscaping is beautiful but doesnt keep out the noise from the busy highway that the property fronts on. I had dinner and breakfast there, and both were good; no restaurants nearby. The amazing feature of the place is the two-story museum, which two of the staff showed me through. The material in the museum is well-organized and immaculately clean, but there is not one piece of information to indicate what its all about or even how the museum is related to the hotel; and no one on the otherwise very helpful staff had a clue.

I would have preferred a quieter place nearer the center of town or in a residential area. But as its name indicates, it is close to the airport and the shuttle service was excellent. Better communication would have helped me with planning how to get from the train station to the property. As it was, I found out when I arrived that there are generally no taxis at the stationbut there were kind strangers.

Exceptional value for money, excellent facilities great for early or late flights

This hotel is a gem. The rooms are large, and extremely well-equipped, the restaurant serves a good range of well-prepared local and 'Western' dishes, and the bar can provide a great selection of drinks, including wine and excellent coffee. There is also a fascinating little museum in its own building, in the hotel grounds, containing items that the owner has collected over many years - it's well worth a look. An extremely affable manager runs this place together with his team of friendly, helpful, English-speaking staff.

Only the temperature (I was there in December, and it was freezing), but that's not the fault of the hotel!
