The rooftop pool and bar were wonderful, breakfast was amazing. Rooms are very cool and modern. Staff very friendly and helpful.
The central location, amazing design, comfy bed, and super friendly staff!
Amazing design of the hotel and great location! Very clean. Food and drinks are excellent.
Rooftop pool is more a decoration- however rooftop ambience is nice.
Great location! With in walking distance to all the historic sites, and must try restaurants in downtown. Loved!!! The terrace and its delicious food by a fantastic female chef! The view is amazing and the perfect place to relax with a margarita after visiting the buzzing Zocalo/Templo Mayor. Mouthwatering breakfast!
Nothing. But I will mention that it can be a bit noisy if you’re staying in the lower floors due to an independent restaurant operating below. Also, because the hotel seats behind the cathedral in the heart of the Zocalo (main square) access to it could be tricky due to streets being closed. The hotel will guide you and send someone to greet you, as well as helping you to manage Uber.
The hotel is absolutely beautifully designed - it is a stunning space. The location right by the historic Zocalo cannot be bettered if you are interested in Mexico City’s ancient sites. Front desk staff are excellent. There are cute shops and cafes in the lobby too. The upstairs roof space is stunning. Cleaning staff were also great. The hotel feels very safe even though it’s in the centre of the city and it is easy to get an Uber from nearby.
There is no comfortable seating in the public areas of the hotel - 2 beautiful single chairs dotted about that make you look and feel like a social pariah (see photos). Why not put two or three chairs or sofas in these areas and a little table, so people might have a chat and a drink together? Breakfast was weirdly restricted and awkward and doesn’t feel welcoming or luxurious. Tea water tastes of coffee, only forks given for eating yoghurt (!). A bilingual menu would help because some of the staff don’t speak English (but the menu is in English). Breakfast food is good and the setting is lovely but somehow the whole thing felt like a bit of an ordeal. Often simple things like juice or a piece of toast felt impossible to obtain. Architects and interior designers are not the same as hoteliers. The rooms are a bit over-designed and there are some features (like not having a ceiling on the toilet) that will not be to everyone’s taste. Poor soundproofing at times - although the building is quiet - but especially at 1:30am on a Friday night, when the hotel felt it was still appropriate to be playing loud music in the lobby and staff shouted and moved furniture just yards from the doors to hotel rooms All these points have been made by other reviews on booking.com and not acted upon. Círculo Mexicano could be a fantastic hotel with some small changes made, if the management can take the reviews given here on board and act on them.
