The room was nice and the staff are very kind!
The shower cubicle door was broken and not replaced. They also have very limited parking space. You can park outside (safe).
Our stay at the hotel was really nice, the food and hospitality was great. Despite how cold Nanyuki gets at night, they really tried to warm up the main restaurant and Ikweta lounge. The room was large and we'll spaced, WiFi worked great, enjoyed a bit of Netflix and chill and the facilities were fine. The food was great, adequate variety for buffet during dinner and breakfast. The hotel's location is actually quite great, it's close to the equator marker sign, within walking distance to the town and also driving distance to Old pejeta conservancy, Mt. Kenya National park and other fun places within the town.
I guess the hotel was on full capacity, it would take a while to get the hot water running in the shower and still it wouldn't get hot fast enough, it felt a waste watching all that water run. I had booked for a room with a mountain view and I got the ones facing the stairs, it was such a bummer but we made do with what we had.
Breakfast was very, very good, there was not brewed coffee but there was African tea. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. Our room was on the road side, so there was a little noise, but overall very quiet. However the atrium architecture made the breakfast preparation pretty noisy (not a problem for us since we were up early). The lounge chairs were very comfortable and the 5th floor bar had amazing views.
The bar and lounge at the fifth floor has a great view, though we didn't get much time to enjoy it. The hotel is clean and the staff are polite, helpful and accommodating.
1. Hygiene practice needs improvement. For instance, forks and knives should not be placed directly on tables without wrapping in napkins or at least on a plate. 2. The food in general was not well done. A simple ham and cheese sandwich is problematic. The chicken nuggets was a chicken breast with breadcrumb that was falling apart. The french fries had no taste, seemed they'd been frozen for too long. The breakfast had limited options especially on the pastry section. 4. All the rooms appear to be double beds, it was not possible to get twin beds even with prior booking made. 5. The parking is very limited inside the hotel, one had to park outside and across the street from the hotel.
Great spot overall! Very helpful staff. Good breakfast. Close to many good places to eat and shop.
