Great location very comfortable bed Generally helpful staff.
Great number of steps for our daughter who is in a wheelchair and cannot walk at all. She had to go outside to get to the restaurant for breakfast without steps. Bad weather stopped her from having breakfast with us, not good. I texted you about 10 days before our stay and explained about her limitations. That was not noted as a problem! Clearly it was, the bathroom was not adapted for wheelchair users. She was unable to have a bath or shower for the five days she was with you. Very expensive for the lack of services available for her. Poor show!!!
Great location
No atmosphere, very pleasant and efficient staff but no personal touches. The rooms were old and dated, poor heating system. Came on at 7am....like a loud hot air blower. The pillows were horrendous I'm not a complainer in general, but I felt it was definitely not good value for money. The cheapest wine in the bar was 31 !!! At check out, they said there was an error of 4 not taken at the time of booking, their fault. It was added to my final bill. I think not! Anyway, the receptionist did take it off after I disputed it. It's a lovely hotel in a great location but it's overpriced with NO personality.
Location good
Wedding venue and rooms very warm with no option to lower temperature Opening windows then had noise from extraction
Proximity to the town was perfect
Restaurant was very expensive
Great location, could easily walk to tourist attractions, pubs and restaurants. So no need to pay for taxi's. Easy to find and plenty of parking. Staff were great. We stayed for breakfast each morning, the food was very good, lots of choice and reasonably priced. Bed was very comfortable and room was clean.
Window in room was broken and would not fully close. Wasn't a big issue as it hasn't been cold whilst we stayed and we were not on the ground floor so no security risk. However it did make it noisy when the grass was being cut outside and in the mornings during rush hour traffic. There was also no lock on the bathroom door, looked as though it had been broken and not replaced. Room just generally looked as though it needed some modernisation, however it was clean and comfortable.
Staff were excellent on reception and bar. Room was clean and tidy. Bed was comfortable. Grounds were beautiful. Location excellent for the town.
We decided not to include breakfast in our stay because thought it overpriced. We sought out breakfast in town and got a very reasonably priced and tasty one at Bensons. Room was hot with the temp reading 32 degrees at one point. There was air conditioning but it went off after a while, assumed it was timed, so had a rather restless sleep.
Comfy bed, good food
Bathroom wasn't clean, bar was extortionately priced, lamp didn't work and tv channel selection was lacking
Staff were very friendly and accommodating. I like the fact there are taps in the corridor to get fresh drinking water for your rooms
Rooms were really warm
