Looked a bit tired and old fashioned. I also was disappointed that we couldn't use tge sauna and there were lots of school swimming lessons.
Location and comfy bed.
There was a door right outside our room in the corridor which was very noisy when used. The breakfast was not to its usual standard ie not very hot. There were cobwebs in the bathroom, ie bathroom door hinges.
Great location in Aviemore with Macdonald facilities close to hand
All good
The pool and the soft play
Cost, food and basic room
The location in the heart of Aviemore was great. The bed was comfy and the room clean. Parking was easy. The food in the Aspects dining room was a highlight. Big hearty breakfast was great.
While there were some individual waiters who were good, overall the service in the hotel, from concierge to bar staff, was substandard. Without an active mobile phone, I called the reception from our room to seek assistance for booking a game of golf (also at MacDonalds) and was met with resistance and excuses. The outside line on the phone also didn't work. During our so called 'fine dining' wedding anniversary meal, we ordered a glass of champagne and it took three reminders for it to arrive. When we ordered a bottle of red (all very pricey), while it arrived fairly promptly it was plonked on the table, unopened and my husband had to politely requested to the bar staff that it to be poured. One of the annoying aspects was in the lead up to the booking, we were bombarded daily with messages from the resort suggesting that we upgrade. Our room was not made up after the first night except for new towels and some teabags but no restocking of vanity supplies (and when we arrived there was a half filled bottle of conditioner) and the bed not made. The advertised spa in the swimming complex hardly had any bubbles and was disappointing after a long day travelling. Overall, the hotel seemed tired and worn and staff not adequately trained in hospitality. I don't recommend this hotel for fellow international travellers.
All the staff were very helpful, especially those on reception. The room was very comfortable. A decent size, and quiet.
