Le Canberra is located on Rue d’Antibes in central Cannes, a 5-minute walk from the beach. It has a heated outdoor pool surrounded by a sunbathing terrace and a Mediterranean garden. Each of the Canberra’s guest rooms and suites has air-conditioning, soundproofed windows and LCD satellite TV. They all also have a private bathroom and free Wi-Fi access. Guests of the Hôtel Le Canberra have access to a fitness room with a sauna. Reception is open 24 hours for guests’ convenience. The Palais des Festivals and La Croisette are within easy walking distance of the Hôtel Le Canberra. Guests can also visit the many boutique shops surrounding the hotel.

We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be booking to go back there at some point. The only disappointment was the pool wasn’t heated.
Very good hotel with a beautiful back of the hotel. Nice pool, great breakfast, a bar for drinks, private parking (35€ a day), friendly presonnel, good location. We had a good size comfortable Junior suite. We would definately stay here again.

The main issue with our stay was the fact that the hotel accidentally charged my card twice before arrival (taking the full amount, when this should have only been taken once as part of pre-approval checks) and then despite acknowledging this was their mistake, insisted that I then pay the full amount again on arrival meaning at this point I had paid over €600. Luckily I had my Amex to pay the second payment otherwise I would have been out of pocket hundreds of pounds. The hotel confirmed on multiple occasions when asked that the original 2 payments had been cancelled and reverted. This was not the case as I have only now (4 weeks later) received the money back in my account. I also confirmed this with my bank who informed me that the merchant had not reverted the payments and instead had just not collected them, meaning they stayed as pending and were automatically reverted by my bank, rather than the hotel. I have travelled all over the world and expect to, but I have never had an issue like this. Of course, I have paid security deposits in the past but not twice due to fault of the hotel and then had to wait a further 4 weeks to receive this back, with no other forms of compensation expect for a simply apology and assurances that the payment had been reverted, when in fact it hadn’t. I’m not sure what would have happened if I didn’t have another card on hand. I stayed at this hotel previously when it first opened and had a much more pleasant experience. Bathroom maintenance should also be improved as the shower door in our room did not close meaning the floor became soaked and this is clearly a recurring issue as the paint bubbled and pealed due to the excess water next to the bath. Due to the poor mishandling of payments, I won’t be returning to this hotel on my next stay in Cannes.
Lovely hotel with nice staff. Big and clean room. Cute garden area with small heated pool was great. Location is amazing!!
