Common areas were a bit dated. Breakfast wasn’t great and these was moldy bread….
Outstanding stay with some of the friendliest staff I've ever encountered at a hotel (particularly a chain). Shout out to Kelly, Steph and Jaraslava. I know the official hotel / QR code feedback is through Google but I hope their manager reads this here (I didn't want to use Google as I couldn't remain anonymous). Right from when I entered the hotel after a long journey it felt welcoming with the bar on the left and reception on the right. Loved the history behind it being an old mill - there were references throughout the hotel. It's in a great position for the town too and only 10 minutes walk from the railway station. Breakfast was great - lots of choice including haggis and tatties which was a nice surprise. The room was very clean indeed with a cosy vibe - I was very relaxed and comfortable. I asked for a higher room with a view and it had a lovely outlook over to the St Paul's Church, now renovated as an open air arts centre. Thank you - I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else if I come back to Perth.
Yes, it is in an older style and theoretically could use renovation - but it was very clean indeed and I liked the simplicity in the room (especially the foot operated lamp!). The only thing I had to juggle was charging phone/ipad with kettle and hairdryer, there's really only the one socket and nothing by the bed. But I didn't mind because everything else was so great.

Staff were friendly and helpful
Reception area cold and smelling of drains Rooms very noisy due to guests in rooms above walking around ( squeaky floor boards etc.). My elderly parents had a hot drink from the bar. When I went to pay for them at reception, I was told that they were "on the house" - On checking out I was charged for these drinks as, no note of the waiving of charges had been made on the system. It was not possible to book a taxi to the station due to all local firms being busy meaning that my 89 year old parents had to walk. A slow and stressful experience!
Buffet breakfast is excellent
The hotel is an ideal city centre value for money stay
