Spacious and quiet room right in the city centre, good breakfast
Had to walk outside for breakfast which was a slight bummer, but at least it wasnt a bad weather. Breakfast had a great tea selection, but then the in-room tea was horrible.
The room is amazing. The shower is superb, the room is very clean and modern. It is close to a multitude of shopping including groceries and a liquor store. The surrounding restaurants are open interesting and relaxing. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The window has a window seat you may sit in or lye in and view the street. So cozy. The temperature in the room was very comfortable.
I was happy with everything. A refrigerator in the room would be nice.
Central and garage
Nothing
We were housed in a neighbouring building. It was difficult to find a way in and out of it. Especially at night, when the adjacent shop was not working and the lift did not go down to the right floor. When driving the car out of the car park we had paid for, the barrier did not go up! The operator at reception simply forgot to enter our car plate number into the computer! The call button in the car park did not work either. We lost a lot of time while we were driving out of the car park. The reception did not even apologise to us for the problems we had. The service did not correspond to the money paid.
There are only a few hotels in Lahti so this one is the best. The location is excellent, on the main street of the town. The new part (the so called "Loft") across the street is beautiful but I stayed in the old part. The hotel has very good restaurants and the breakfast is also very good with cheerful service despite it getting very busy at weekend. The chromecast in the room actually functioned unlike in some hotels.
This hotel is badly overpriced because of lack of competition. The rooms in the old part are very outdated and 3 star level. Guests staying longer than 1-2 nights won't have anywhere to empty their baggage content (no wardrobe, in my single room no drawers, very little table or shelf space both in the room and the bathroom). I have never seen a bed so badly made in a hotel - the sheet didn't reach under the mattress on all sides so it piled up although attempt had been made to tuck it under the thinner top mattress only, leaving the yellowing sides of the thick main mattress all exposed. Most of the reception staff are a bit cold and unhelpful (I had one very nice exception, though - she was probably more senior than the others and solved a problem to my full satisfaction). The hotel pad was useless and when I tried to call the reception, I had to use my own phone (and actually only ever got to another department of the hotel chain organisation so I had to go down to the reception - this lack of means of communication could be a security problem eventually.)
They have their own parking. Convenient location in the downtown
Nothing to mention
