Grande Hotel Da Barra

The pool, restaurant and breakfast were great. Location at the very end of the strip/beach was good. Also the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

The room was very basic, not very welcoming and bare. Also when first arriving in the room there was an extremely strong odor of cleaning products and the floor was sticky.

The location is perfect - great strip of bars and restaurants right along.

Pictures were a bit deceiving, was quite dated and the pool area and the pool itself needs to be updated.

Although the Staff was very good and helpful, the hotel was not how I expected when I arrived on Friday afternoon. During weekend days, customers (men) at the hotel would walk in the hallways of room floors (including inside a small elevator) almost naked-in small sungas, no shorts, not tops, no shoes, caring open bottle of beer, talking/inviting me and my mother to go to the swimming pool - almost felt as a harassment. I would recommend the hotel on weekdays (if not full with "groups" of people, but not on weekends. Full of people and the restaurant could not handle the amount of people during breakfast waiting for plates, mugs, silverware, and food!

The family room was very simple. On arrival the bedsheets had stains, the water tap didnt work properly.

Great breakfast, amazing location, very friendly staff.

The only issue was the lack of power outlets

We liked the beach, right in front of the hotel. Great easy access.

So many things,: very slow staff in the dining area, shortage of bowls, cutlery, and fresh fruit, CONSTANTLY. This was an irritant by the fourth morning. Also fixtures in the bathroom were loose (taps) and the toilet seat was loose and kept sliding. Not good for an upgraded room!
