LangholmNice room. Comfortable beds. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast and evening meal.
No dedicated parking but free parking available nearby.
Breakfast was absolutely fab. good choice and the children were well catered for. Host was really helpful and approachable and have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. We had the family room with a sofa bed. I can't believe how comfy the sofabed was
The TV was dificult to use but this was my own fault for not asking as basically I couldn't be bothered as I didn't use the TV much
Old, quirky building, room was clean and very comfortable. Food in the restaurant was exceptional.
Watch your head on the eaves
We really enjoyed our stay at the Douglas hotel. The staff were super nice and the room was cozy, clean, full of sunlight, and right in the centre of town. I liked that there were thick and low pillows and that coffee, tea, but also instant porridges was available. We went to relax and evade the city for a few days and that was the perfect place to be. There are several walking paths you can take from there, and although the village is very small, you can walk to grocery stores, cafes, and a few shops around there.
I'd say everything was perfect and we are definitely planning on visiting again, but we were unlucky with the weather when we were there (floods) which meant that we stayed in the room for a lot of the day at times and it did feel a bit cold in the PM. It gets toasty warm when they put the heater on at 5PM, so if you don't stay in the room during the day that really won't be a problem, but if you plan on being hermits like we were bring a little wool. :)
The food was v good and the room price was v reasonable.
The property was a bit dated and there were several sets of stairs to the rooms and dining rooms. Not a problem for us but would be for some as there wasnt a lift.
