Nothing - the hotel cancelled our booking on the morning of our arrival because they double booked the rooms.

I have booked this hotel many months in advance for a vacation with my husband and our three kids. On the day before our arrival, the hotel wrote to me asking what time we will be there. As we were flying into Sicily and landed quite late, I only saw the message the following morning and replied immediately. The hotel wrote back saying that because I have not replied on time, they have cancelled our booking and given our rooms to someone else (even though I have provided my credit card to guarantee the reservation). The hotel made it sound as if that was our fault, and said they did not manage to reach me by phone either. I had no missed calls or voicemails, so I asked what number they called but the hotel staff refused to reply. I have later found out through Booking that the hotel had made a mistake with the reservation and the rooms were double booked. I suppose this sort of thing happens sometimes. I usually do not leave negative reviews and if the hotel had called or written, apologizing and offering to help us find somewhere else to stay, I would not have complained. But instead, they tried to make it sound as if that was our fault! Needless to say, this was an important source of stress and spoiled our first day in Sicily for us. Luckily, we did manage to find another place to stay (and Booking support team was very helpful)

The breakfast was really delicious, apart from homemade cakes and variaty of fruits there was always freshly made salty items too on the nicely set breakfast table. You receive all the support from Sonia & Nella for plannig your daily trip, eating cold food at home, where to go out for a dinner etc.

It is not easy to find a restaurant in walking distance.

The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom spacious and practical, breakfast was great, the coffee even better, and the sisters were very friendly and helpful, particularly Sonia, who was a delight. Nothing was too much trouble. The pool area was very nice and secluded. The best experiences were Ortigia, the fantastic beach at Fontane Bianche and five days of sunny, very warm October weather.

The location wasn't easy to find and as it's in a rural area, there were no local (walkable) shops or cafes/bars. The nearest hotel restaurants (300 mtrs) were 5 star and very expensive. The only other option (Villa Fanusa) is at best a last resort, although Saturday pizza/dance night with the locals was fun. Everything else required a drive.

We had a very very nice relaxed stay in this hotel. The breakfast was one of the best we ever had. Everything natural prepared with love and passion. Sonia took care of all wishes and even gave us small lunch packages for our daily journeys. The pool was nicely designed to relax and for kids to play. If we are back in this area we definitely would come back.

Loved the sisters who own and run the B+B! Wonderful operation, they have great detail to everything from furnishing and plants. Beautiful garden, pool area and immaculately clean. Smiles and happiness, good karma. Highly recommend this calm environment and close to a private beach for a swim in the sea. We enjoyed our stay and would return. Great value and fabulous hospitality!! Stay, you will be happy
