THE LOCATION IS EXCELLENT, HOWEVER, THE BREAKFAST IS POOR.
BEDS ARE OLD AND NEED RENOVATIONS
Pillows
Very small lobby, check in process , waiting too long, Door key didn’t work Didn’t have kettle, small refrigerator
The hotel is conveniently located, making it easy to explore the city. The beds were very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. However, the hotel itself feels outdated—particularly the bathroom, which had a small shower door that caused water to spill across the entire floor. The elevators consistently had an unpleasant odor. Basic amenities were lacking. Only one bottle of water was provided on the first day, with no replacements during the stay. There was no body lotion, and on the final day, the body wash dispenser was completely empty. I had to call the front desk to remove a dirty chair, and they didn’t replace it until I called again to explain that I needed a place to sit. While the location and beds were positives, the overall maintenance and service fell short of expectations for a Meliá property.
I recently stayed at Hotel Madrid Plaza de España, Affiliated by Meliá, and unfortunately, my experience did not meet expectations. While the location is convenient, several issues with the facilities and service made the stay uncomfortable. The hotel itself feels outdated—particularly the bathroom, which had a small shower door that caused water to spill across the entire floor. On top of that, the elevators consistently had an unpleasant odor. Basic amenities were also lacking. Only one bottle of water was provided on the first day, with no replacements throughout the stay. There was no body lotion, and on the final day, the body wash dispenser was completely empty. For a hotel under the Meliá brand, I expected better maintenance and attention to guest comfort. Unfortunately, the experience fell short, and I would hesitate to recommend it unless significant improvements are made.
Very accessible to where we wanted to go. Cleaning happens promptly and properly
The unfriendly staff. We went in and out of the hotel with nobody greeting properly as compared to 8 other hotels we have stayed at in Spain. Even during check-in, it’s like, “oh you are here. Hang on, here’s your key card”
Great location. Good breakfast and very clean. Despite the very central location it was very quiet
I would have loved a coffee machine or kettle in the room to make a hot drink after a long day sightseeing. Also take care with the mini bar. My fault but I misunderstood the sign for the complimentary water and used two bottles. One small bottle cost 7.50 euro
Location and our room bathroom. Plenty of closets. It needs some decor on the room walls.
It needs some decor on the walls of the room. Plain white walls gives the impression of a students dorm.
Location, breakfast, room
Bed hard, plastic plants throughout hotel made it feel cheap.
