YOTEL Edinburgh

Location was close to many shops, stores, convenient. Just be ready to walk up hills when heading towards the Royal Mile.

Staff was very busy in the bar/lounge area. Lots of unclean glasses left behind and self-serve coffee area needed cleaning/servicing. Had not stayed at a Yotel facility before. Did not realize there would be no windows in the room and the bathroom layout was a bit challenging with multiple doors and a curtain.

It was clean, a gym available, close to attractions and restaurants.

I found some of the staff to be very dismissive. We arrived after a long haul flight and had been informed via email/message that early check in was available on a first come, first served basis and for a fee which I was happy to pay. When we arrived at the hotel I was first told that was incorrect and that early check in wasn’t available at all. A second staff member said it was available but couldn’t give me any estimate of time or fee. A third very lovely woman took pity on us and was able to grant us access to our room early, but it was a disappointing start and left a bad taste for the remainder of the stay.
