It's a destination, not just...

It's all about the ambiance. They owners have taken a historic house and retained the feel while adding the necessary modern conveniences. The area is very quiet, yet only minutes away from the heart of the city.

Excellent and affordable historic bed...

Historic home with a lot of nice amenities. Breakfast was fantastic each morning, and the location is close to a lot of restaurants a few blocks away. Easy for Lyft drivers thanks to then driveway that connects on to E Jefferson.

The only glitch was we arrived about three hours prior to check-in time with our luggage and no one was available to answer the door. To be fair, we should have shared our itinerary with them so they’d have someone present. Other than that, one “good problem” was that our room (Iris) at the top floor was literally cold. We were told we could open windows allow some summertime heat into the room which worked reasonably well.

The chef prepared delicious breakfasts!! Frederick Stearn Inn is centrally located to several bus lines, including the #9 that we rode on a few times
