Real 5-star experience. We stayed in a beachfront bungalow, which was literally on the sand of a marvelous beach. The resort is nestled between the ocean and the jungle and all the settings are breathtaking. The breakfast buffet was varied and, for dinner, we could choose among the 7 restaurants of the hotel. It was a different place, menu and experience every time. The place is very child-friendly with lots of activities for the whole family. There are also bikes you can borrow from the hotel to ride around the island. We are already planning our next stay!
There is nothing bad to say about the resort, except that the transfer fee from Mahe to Silloutte is a bit too steep.
The only thing that was good on our stay was the beach front villa, a very nice experience, the beach was super.
A lot of things wasnt as we expected, unfortunately for example: 1) the location of the hotel is in a separate island, abd only after booking the room and payed we was informed that we should bay for each person 225 each (450) extra charge that we was shocked about . 2) cleanliness is in a very low level compared to many 5 stars hote that we have visited !( and we visited a lot). 3)a massive amount of flys and mosquitoes on the dining room. ( even thought mosquitoes is a normal thing on seychelles, but we didnt experience such a thing on another 5 stars hotel that we have been to on seychelles) 4) receptions, not helping at all, they are very far from being professional for a hotel that claims to be a 5 stars hotel, very disappointing. 5) the ferry of hilton is ridiculously expensive compared to other transport to any other island of the Seychelles, for example: from praslin to mahe cost us 180 for a couple including transport to and from the hotel. 5) compared to another 5 stars hotel at the Seychelles that we tried , this hotel should be maximum 3 stars.
Stunning / the hotel had been built sympathetically to the surroundings, it felt remote but beautifully equipped for guests. The staff were sensational.
The signature restaurant / the Italian - whilst the food was sensational, the restaurant itself was really strange - no ambience, no music, very sterile. I would not recommend it as an experience.
The beauty of the beach and the whole island, the hiking trails around and the hidden beaches. Staff were all very friendly, food and cocktails very tasty large comfy room with everything needed, own beachchairs, everything very clean and well maintained. Breakfast buffet everything you need, fresh juice, espresso, egg station, waffles, fruits etc... Alacarte restaurants are delicious, we liked most gran kaz and Sakura.
Food and drinks too expensive. We would have consumed a lot more if prices were more reasonable. Bicycles not all te time available, and in very bad shape.
Location Beach Transfer service Free bicycles Spa Tennis/padel courts Room with ocean view Good wifi for uploading/downloading on social media Very good quality of food, diversity of food, all at Dauban Grand Kaz - service and food exceptional 4 degrees - tasty mocktails
Poor maintenance and few availability of good bicycles Loads of flies at the Dauban restaurant were killing our comfort during eating time (we didn't encounter this in other places we stayed in Seychelles, respectiv in La Digue and Praslin) Bed sheets were changed every 3 days, were clean but with stains sometimes Apart from Dauban, the other restaurants let us down. The presentation of the food plates at those restaurants was good, but the taste of the food wasn't exceptional. We had high expectations from Portobello, and it had nice food resentation, but it didn't taste at all as good as the Italian food for the same menu we experienced in Italy. I'll have a quick guess: the chef wasn't Italian. Lo Brizan barman doesn't know how to do a good smoothie. Maybe he's better at cocktails. It was very annoying that the still water wasn't for free at the restaurants, as it was the same water as the free still water served in the room.
