Bathroom not clean. Tub clogged and wasn't in best condition.
Location was fantastic. It was within walking distance of several attractions and very close to a subway station, making it easy to get around the city. Additionally, I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room, which was relatively large compared to the average hotel room in Manhattan.
The service was consistently poor. On more than one occasion, I waited in line at the reception to address issues with my room, and the staff members would see me standing there alone but would pretend not to notice me. The only exception was Adam, who provided excellent service and helped us with booking a car to the airport. A major problem with the room was the bathroom, which flooded after every shower. The shower enclosure was not properly sealed. I reported this issue on my first night, and was told someone would fix it, but nothing was ever done. I was forced to block the poorly sealed area with two large towels before each shower to prevent flooding. Adding to the list of issues, the hotel had extremely sensitive smoke detectors that seemed to trigger the alarm with even just steam from the shower. During our 7-night stay, the alarm went off twice. This was a terrible experience, as we were always left feeling startled and unsure whether it was a genuine emergency, if we should evacuate to the lobby, or if it was just another false alarm, which it always turned out to be. Overall, the hotel seems poorly managed and under-resourced. This was evident in two key areas: Firstly, the elevators were incredibly slow and often arrived full, leading to significant waiting times. Secondly, while the breakfast itself was reasonably comprehensive, the seating area was completely inadequate for the number of guests. As a result, I had to take my food and eat in my room every day. Finally, a particularly unpleasant aspect was that garbage containers and used towels were consistently left right at the hotel entrance. Walking in and out while passing the trash was a far cry from the experience I expected from a hotel supposedly associated with the Hilton brand.
I was overbilled. That left a poor taste in my mouth but otherwise it was very good. Especially the staff!
