This is our second time here. Excellent staff and location. It's perfect for the whole family. Access to the dolphins is excellent. In the lagoon, you see turtles and marine life. At night, on a clear day, you see the stars and can see the constellations with the naked eye. There is a shopping center nearby and a sandy beach as well.
The hotel needs remodeling in areas such as the main breakfast/buffet by the lagoon; I noticed some rooms were remodeled. Unfortunately, ours was not and felt dated. But looks like they are working on that.
The staff were wonderful to deal with and accommodated my need to have a late check out so that I could finish a meeting Vivian was very nice to deal with.
I didn’t like the slow monorail or a huge long walks on the large property. There are no places to sit. Everything is outrageously overpriced. It’s cheaper to Uber to Starbucks than to have a coffee at the resort.
Location
Our room was by the smoking section No privacy on our lanais
The hotel facility is really nice. Rooms are big enough
From the parking lot to the room you have to walk over a mile! The tram is really really slow and it arrives every 10-15minutes. It took 30 min from the room to the car Expensive parking fee No one to help with the bags or anything. There is nothing to do at the hotel after 5pm
Check out time 10:00, too early!
Location and day activities on property
No evening music, or bars to get a drink at (Aug-Sept).
Beautiful
$75 parking
Room view, interiors, housekeeping. Grounds were well done. Sunset was amazing- thank you Mother Nature. Resort did not seem overly crowded.
Construction-cement grinding, railing removal? on balcony below/diagonal to ours in AM was deafening, even with slider closed. Walking around outside, we did not see any other balconies being worked on. Staff did offer to move us to another room, but we just adjusted to not being in our room while work was going on Meals: There are too few options for a resort this size. Only on premise breakfast other than coffee bar was buffet that costs $55.00!- and that did not include champagne or mimosas - tasted good, but very basic. We paid $20.00 for a comparable buffet at Volcano House. Dinner: As check-in was at 4PM, by the time we got our luggage to our room, all the poolside options were closed for the day, leaving luau, Kamuela Provision Company (where we had a reservation for the next evening) and Nui- an Italian restaurant. Pizza was good, but we were surprised at how few dining options there were on premise.
