breakfast at the Putney Diner was excellent service and staff was very friendly and food was great for what we had at the inn the price of 400.00 for the night was way too high
Location is nice and the hotel clearly was very nice previously.
There was no breakfast... The property emailed us to have breakfast "on them" at a diner 15 miles away. We tried to arrange it for the first morning and no-one answered the phone (there was literally no-one at the "hotel" in person.

Hotel is having major issues due to recent new ownership. Hotel is not staffed appropriately. Upon check in a note was left with instructions on how to get into room as well as an apology that the TV was not working. In fact there was no cable at all in the room and Wi-Fi was almost non existent. I send an email requesting either credit or refund and received an apology stating that they are usually good with communicating issues before arrival and offered either refund or discount. I did not see the response until the afternoon of the next day because it was not via my email but on booking.com at which point I accepted their offer of a discount because my daughter (who i booked this room for) had to leave shortly to attend a wedding and did not have ample time to look for another hotel. I have not received a discount and since the offer (which I have proof of their offer to discount in a text on booking.com ) they are no longer responding. This property is old and in trouble, from what my daughter was told the new owners are struggling to get this property up and running appropriately. They were kind and apologetic to my daughter and confirmed they would be happy to extend a discount verbally to her as well via the text to me. It adds insult to their efforts if they first do not inform you of all the issues they are facing up front (on their listing it states that the pool and restaurant are both closed but they provide breakfast) nothing was stated they also do not have working TVs and poor internet service in the rooms. When the hotel was recommended for the wedding non of the above was disclosed. I would highly recommend removing this option from your list.
Location
No pool , breakfast or staff all night.
Very cute hotel. The staff was amazing, very helpful and kind.

The location is a cute Vermont village in an historic center set back from the road. A very good continental breakfast is included in a charming breakfast room. The room and bed was very comfortable and well decorated The grounds were beautiful with a stream in the back Lots of hiking areas close by. The staff were fantastic. Yoga studio next door.
The only restaurant in town was closed so we needed to drive about 25 minutes to find a place to eat. We thought there would be a rest. at the Inn but it was permanently closed. There was not a view from our room. Their were no mountains views from the inn due to it's location.
location
