Great staff. Ian at the checkin desk was very friendly and helpful. Gave us lots of good recommendations. Hotel has a great rooftop bar. Property was clean.
Would have liked some space to keep open suitcase in the room.
Upon entering The Hoxton, Poblenou, one is immediately met with a most resplendent welcome. Anas, a gentleman of exceptional bearing, proficient in many tongues, ever-smiling, helpful, kind-hearted, and above all, profoundly professional. A rare jewel amidst the sands of modern hospitality. His attentive presence at every beck and call, coupled with his poised and courteous manner, instills a sense of comfort and respect, an ode to the noblest traditions of guest service. The hotel itself stands as a charming haven, Away from the cacophonous throngs of Barcelona's bustling masses. The rooms are generously appointed, offering a spacious and comfortable refuge wherein weary travellers may find rest. The rooftop bar TOPE crowns the experience with its vibrant energy; the Thursday evening reverberated with a masterful House music set, a true celebration of sound and rhythm that invites one to commence the night in style. For those inclined to stroll, the Rambla Poblenou offers a scenic promenade leading to the sea within twenty minutes, where the Mediterranean beckons with her azure waves. A particular mention must be made of Sabrina, whose impeccable service redeem the less inspired interactions of her colleagues. Her smile is warm, and her fluency in French, with a delightful Spanish flair, renders her an ambassador of conviviality at both the bar and the breakfast room.
Yet amidst this tapestry of excellence, a few shadows linger. The breakfast, though adequate, falls short of the grandeur befitting a rate of €450 per night. One might expect a broader, more bountiful spread, free from the blemish of overripe fruit, whose fragrance spoke too insistently of fermentation. The service at the ground floor bar left much to be desired. The air of nonchalance from certain servers gave the impression that the mere act of ordering a drink was an imposition upon their leisure. Smiles were scarce, and the hospitality, so evident elsewhere, felt diminished. Nonetheless, it is a testament to the resilience of the establishment that these lapses were somewhat redeemed by Sabrina’s presence and the effulgence of the rooftop ambiance.
