The area and buildings are the best part of it

the check in process was a disaster and we didn't actually stay in the hotel we booked. The hotel we booked was either closed or full, so we were directed to another hotel to check in, when we arrived at the second hotel, we were then advised we were staying at a third hotel down the road. The whole process took about 1 hour to sort out, all on foot dragging suitcases along cobbled roads. To add to this, we asked for an iron as there wasnt one in our hotel, one was brought over after 30 minutes without an ironing board so we had to use the floor. Then we went to use the hotel spa and had to pay 35 euros to enter. Breakfast only served until 10:00 and there is nowhere on the website or the booking confirmation which indicated this. The whole experience was just poor.

Very nice and clean hotels at the resort. The thermals and spa is in need of a little renovation. One working small sauna and one steam room available. You need to pay additional in order to use this facility

Beautiful location. Our room and all the buildings were lovely, were clean and well maintained. The staff were working very hard to provide a great service. It was quiet, and relaxing.

The buffets - breakfast and dinner were fresh, but especially the evening meal was a little school dinner like for the price. The house wine for poor. There could have been so much more information made available concerning the local area and the hotel itself - it's history, best times of year to see the waterfalls (for instance) - anything! There was nothing about the spa treatments - and you couldn't book from the hotel, which perhaps was a technical issue, but then there wasn't even a list of treatments or prices. No times or information on the pool use. We needed to know what to ask about before getting information on it- so all a little opaque. It seemed such a missed opportunity.

The hotel in general, its location, food, and staff were all very good.

Room was not clean. Spa is dated. Personnel was friendly.

Very uncomfortable small queen size bed. Room was not clean. Buffet style dinner was not up to standard. Small selection and not very tasty.

The location was stunning and it felt like we were staying in a small village, with square and lovely walks within metres of our room. The bar was nice and very reasonably priced. The pool was great !

The cooked breakfasts were poor. Little choice and never warm. The 1692 restaurant was probably the worst place we have eaten in many years. Poor quality food and never warm. A real let down compared to the rest of the hotel. Every customer we talked to agreed. Avoid it !
