Explore six hidden beaches in Puerto Vallarta with a local guide. Admire the beauty of nature and swim and snorkel in blue waters.
After meeting your guide in Zona Romantica, take an urban transportation just like the locals do. Get off at a picturesque fisher town and start your hike following the riverbank and the sea. From there, ascend to the tropical forest with some amazing views.
After a short hike through the jungle, descend to your first destination, Colomitos Beach, also known as the smallest beach in Mexico. Take some pictures by the beach before continuing on your adventure to explore more hidden beaches.
As you arrive at your other destinations, grab the opportunity to swim in clear blue waters. If the sea is calm, your guide will take you to a secret place where you can snorkel and observe diverse marine life.
After your refreshing swim break, proceed to your final destination and last beach, Playa las Animas. There, you have the chance to try an incredible local seafood plate before taking the boat back to the fisher town where you will see the bay from a totally different perspective.

Alex was a wonderful guide and we had a great time. Would recommend doing this hike if it’s your first time to Puerto Vallarta!
The beaches were spectacular, but we arrived by guajolotero (shared transport) rather than by private tour, so I think it ended up being very expensive.
Beautiful hike. I really liked how it was a small group. It was a nice private tour to 6 beaches. It was a fun way to see parts of puerto Vallarta that most tourists miss. Off you’re an experienced hiker, wear hiking sandals. Website requires closed toe shoes. It was a pain having to take shoes on and off at every beach. Chacos and Tevas are perfect for this excursion. I would rate the hike as moderate…not too difficult, but lots of man made steps to climb. I with totally recommend if you are in adequate shape.
Juan was a fantastic guide and explained everything to us in English. The hike along the beautiful southern coastline of Banderas Bay was wonderful and not too strenuous — perfect for all fitness levels. The stunning beaches south of Boca de Tomatlán are definitely worth the trip. Getting there by public bus and then by water taxi added a sense of adventure and is also suitable for families with children. Overall, a fantastic experience I would recommend to anyone visiting the Puerto Vallarta area!
If I could give Juan “jungle Johnnie” 6 stars, I would! From the moment we met him, it felt like we had just reunited with our long-lost little brother (the cool, funny one). He made my wife and me feel like family—like the kind of family that actually wants to spend time together. The tour? Absolute A+. We laughed, we learned, we lived our best tourist lives. Juan deserves a raise, a trophy, and maybe even a street named after him. We’ll definitely be back and we’re bringing snacks for Juan next time. Thanks for everything! Todo chido primos!
Great hike to nice beaches
100% worth the money one of the best experiences here in Vallarta. The hike/tour lasts approximately 4.5 hours, it is a bit strenuous I would say moderate level, you can do as a beginner but definitely bring non slip shoes/sandals. Our tour guide was Diego and he was amazing! He’s from Vallarta and had lots of knowledge of the trail, the local environment and biodiversity. Definitely recommend!
