Our trip to Crete, Greece in 4K. #greece #travel #travelcouple We stayed on the beautiful island of Crete, Greece for an entire seven days with two days of travel time. Definitely not enough time if you ask me! We stayed at Seaside all inclusive resort in Agia Pelagia which was about 30-40 minutes outside of Heraklion, Crete. We rented a car and traveled around the entire island. We put around 1,500 km on the rental car just driving around to different locations. Pro tip if you are going to drive around Greece, ADAPT! The roads are curvy and the natives drive like there is no tomorrow! It's not a bad thing, i kind of like the way they drive! Also, if you are used to driving on well lit roads, i would avoid driving at night. It's extremely dangerous. We were there in mid September 2023, which was a fantastic time weather wise. Temperatures were in the high 70's and low 80's, (Fahrenheit) which made the water a little chilly but you will adjust once you're in the water for awhile. Tourism is high especially during the summer months. September is supposed to be the start of the slow months but there were still A LOT of people. We met some great people from all around the world and the experience was amazing! The food was FANTASTIC! If you get the chance to try an authentic gyro, take it! Don’t even get me started on the feta cheese, i think i consumed my body weight! Only thing that would take a while for me to adjust is the little seasoning they use. Being from south Louisiana, we season EVERYTHING! Another thing to get used to would be the Raki. Raki is meant to SIP, not shoot. I was downing Raki Mojitos most of the trip, I HIGHLY recommend.
