This is an old hotel that is in serious need of renovation and updates. Unfortunately, it does not match its price category and leaves a disappointing impression overall. I would recommend looking for other accommodation options.
Loved the architecture, the spaciousness of the rooms, & the proximity to everything in downtown Providence. I booked three rooms for family. All of us had the same type of room booked but each was a little different. It made us laugh that our Mom, who was the only single person to a room had two bathrooms in her room. We will definitely come back again.
No valve. I o w to help with luggage very little Customer service
Good location, 15 min walk to Brown campus.
lots of nighttime street activities in the neighborhood, can hear everything from the room
Room clean, beds comfortable.
Breakfast not included. Room was pricey for such an old place.
It was an easy location for getting to the AMP for the PC graduation. Cool retro vibe.
Staff was nice at desk but kind of clueless. Had sent an early message asking for rooms close by (elderly parents in one) and they put us on two separate floors. They corrected it and said “there are plenty of floors where we can put you both” okay? Why not do that when reservations are under same name?! Coffee/ breakfast place is understaffed and overwhelmed. Guy working there makes you afraid to even order something because he’s so angry. Garage is confusing and behind hotel. We kept looping all the way around to get to garage with elderly people and no one told us there’s an easy back door out to garage. Found it on our last day. Asked about how to get to restaurant on same street as hotel and desk said “I don’t know.” Literally just wanted to know do we go right or left outside of door. Were told at check-in that there is no heat AND no A/C this time of year. There’s a fan that blows air?! Needless to say getting just a normal temperature was kind of confusing. Maintenance guy was great and helpful and came up but it should just be easier. One sink with very little space is tough getting ready (part of the difficulty with older building). WiFi was very spotty. Room was clean but gross blood stain on duvet cover. Clearly old dried blood but still gross.
