Cliff House Inn

This place has an amazing location right on the ocean. The outdoor dining was delightful. We loved the vintage atmosphere of the hotel.

The proximity to the beach is great, the grounds were well kept all of the tables and grounds were washed every morning. The views were magnificent yet a quiet area. The main positive about this area on highway ! is that it is a very small hamlet on the coast with very limited development so not as crowded as other hotels in tourist areas. Apparently all of the rooms have an ocean view and the beds are comfortable but bring your own pillow

I booked Room number 9 and all was fine except the water in the shower kept turning from hot to cold every few seconds, there is a plumbing issue. At first I thought it was many other guests using it at the same time but that was not the case as I took a shower twice at different times , for that reason alone I will not choose this option again. Also I ate dinner at the restaurant, Both my wife and I ordered fish and chips and maybe this was a poor choice but the fish was very salty and I ended up drinking water all night , everything else was fine. From what other guests ordered the presentation of the dishes was excellent, my wife is a professional chef and recognized and commented on this. For the mere fact that I had a most uncomfortable experience with a hot/cold shower it was not worth the price of the room, When you are bone chilled from the surf it is the most important factor to make the stay a memorable experience, hot water is a must. There was no "in room" coffee maker or coffee or tea like nearly all hotels I've ever booked , Gotta have coffee when the restaurant is not open

We were celebrating our 23 anniversary. We loved our room with the ocean view and felt it was wonderful value. The staff was very helpful and went out of their way to serve a drink from the bar when they said they had just closed. We ate at the restaurant for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. Dinner was excellent!

We were concerned we would not be able to find parking but then a space opened up. It was late, we were in bed and we got a knock on the door that they had not closed a tab from a drink and coconut shrimp outside before we ate dinner in their restaurant and needed our credit card. We accommodated them while they ran down and charged our card and came back up for signature. We did not know why they didn't charge it to our room. We sat inside for dinner to celebrate our anniversary and we were surprised that such a nice place would use the restaurant as a "stock room" to stock extra supplies along the wall and on top of the bar for catering or special parties perhaps...not sure. It made the restaurant fell like we were eating in the back with the supplies.. not romantic with such an AMAZING view and location. We were told that breakfast was "awesome" as it was included. We found little breads and little muffins and cereal and boiled eggs. Not the breakfast we were expecting but we were Ok with it anyway.
