Sometimes noise like doors slamming loudly... I wish guests would close doors gently.
although the room was next to the elevator with a wake up call at 5:30am and a goodnight at 11--love the size and that we had a mt and ocean view--also loved the waiters at breakfast, very funny and started the day off with a smile.....
never sat around the pool because it was crowded-sorry that there is no way to open it up just a little.....-family was staying at Marriott so we were at the beach with them or over in their grill area....
30 mins from airport which was good. Easy to find. Great welcome. Very impressive hotel. Rooms very spacious. Balcony view overlooking mountains fantastic.
No beach. Walkway collapsing - erosion and high tides meant beach had disappeared by 1130am. Very disappointing. The bedrooms were beautiful but needed more hangers and larger drawers for clothes. If you stay for a week and are travelling between islands more space required. Its a large conference hotel so expect to walk far. Restaurants and bars incredibly expensive.
The tragedy at Lahaina happened on the third day of our stay. Hotel through loudspeaker system told us that there was a brush fire. No phone, internet or wifi. We were never told about the disaster except that road was blocked. No emergency food supply. except leftovers from lauii cancelled because of windstorm. Finally walked about a half mile to a place where a group of people were loading supplies into a catamaran . We were told that there was a disaster but no one knew how bad it was.Rumors spread through the hotel. Employees had lost there homes. Two days later we were told to board buses that would take us to the airport and that for $20 we would be shuttled to Oahu to sleep in the convention center. No ability to communicate outside
