DunstableBeautiful walks Lovely setting
We loved the spacious room which had that traditional elegance. The whole property was very luxurious and the breakfast was superb. We loved having a swim and the whole spa, really, before we left. We just wished we stayed longer than a night. The staff were friendly and polite. My husband even bought me a lovely set of jewellery that I treasure. It was just simply a wonderful stay for us!
The taps in the bathrooms were a little hard to turn off, they were very old.
Gardens
Very old hotel in need of renovation. Strong Smell of food in the air everywhere in the hotel And outside. Hotel is badly managed; service very poor; staff not properly trained at all. Food not good and expensive. Rooms and bathrooms very old. Everything very disorganised. We didint enjoy at all
Breakfast was a great offering
The fact they are closing at end of September for a refurbishment over 2 years or so
History Restaurant Grounds
Room slightly dated decor
the building and main gardens were impressive and the spa pool was good and clean.
Our room was supposed to be a "garden view "room but was a leaf strewn patio with a table and 2 chairs per room but definitely no view. The staff in general in the bar and restaurant areas seemed under-trained with slow service and repeated requests for things asked for.

Subject: Formal Request for Refund – Booking Ref: 5604919724(Luton Hoo Hotel)To: Mr. Surinder Arora From: William Ridgers Date: 22 July 2025Dear Mr.Arora,As a recent guest of the Luton Hoo Hotel, I amwriting to you directly after being unable to reach senior hotel management onthe morning of our departure. I hereby submit a formal request for a refund dueto the hotel’s failure to provide the accommodation as booked, and for themisleading manner in which this was handled by reception staff. At approximately 5:00 AM on the morning of ourdeparture, I spoke with Night Manager Ashley, who acknowledged the issuesaffecting Room 143 in the Parkland (West) block and confirmed that ourcomplaints were formally recorded, “logged in”, under our booking. We are senior citizens, aged 80 and 85, andwere travelling southbound. We chose the Luton Hoo Hotel for a restful,high-standard overnight stay and accordingly prepaid for a Parkland DeLuxe roomadvertised as an “entire unit located on the ground floor,” with a “gardenview,” “elevator access,” and “free toiletries,” among other amenities. The bookingwas made on July 02 2025 via Booking.com, reference number 5604919724.We arrived at reception at approximately 5:00PM on Sunday, July 20. A receptionist named David checked us in. In the middle, another receptionist called Marina, I believe, quietly consulted with him onthe side in almost a whisper. David led us as far as only the west door of themain building, at which point he pointed over to the Parkland block and told usthat our room was located there "one floor up", then promptly turnedback into the main block, leaving us to proceed with our luggage. After several doors and short staircases, wefound that the Parkland block elevator was out of service. We climbed thestairs to reach Room 143, one of us with difficulty (and later on too). Onentry, the room was notably warm and humid, and the air conditioning was notfunctioning.
