Loved the room and the staff. Breakfast at the restaurant was delicious.
Hard to get room temp adjusted
Comfortable, conveniently located with a good breakfast and excellent bar.
Nothing
Hotel was clean and well equipped. Location was perfect for us - in between Dupont Circle metro station and the Lincoln Theatre where we attended a show. Also lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Hotel bar was handy and seemed popular - we just had drinks, no food.
It’s an old hotel and the soundproofing is non-existent. It was fairly noisy. I don’t like hotel rooms with connecting doors to other rooms. We had a fairly noisy group in a suite which had connecting doors to us. Also our room’s main door had a gap at the bottom (between the door and the floor) that was big enough to put your hand through! So we got a lot of noise coming in from the corridor. Room doors didn’t close quietly so there were also lots of doors banging closed. The noise issues are enough for us to decide not to stay here again.
It is absolutely clean and spotless, and I say this with most of the furniture upholstered in white.
It is in the most architecturally marvelous and hip neighborhood of DuPont Circle. It is a gorgeous 2 mile walk to the mall attractions with excellent subway connections, but the location is not in the immediate proximity of DC’s great museums (except of course the Phillips Collection which is in this section).
