The hotel and rooms are beautiful. They are really massive, and the bathrooms and oversized tubs were a very nice touch. We booked several rooms and every room had a spectacular view.
We are a large family and the rooms could only accommodate up to three people, so we had to book 4 rooms. We asked at the time of booking that the rooms be connected. That was not possible when we checked in, which meant that we paid for 4 rooms, but only used 2. Obviously, my 2 year old and 5 year old could not sleep in a separate room down the hall. It just felt like such a waste of money, and after speaking with management, they were able to find one connecting room, which meant that we had to move all of our things that had already been unpacked after a night, and the other two rooms still remained unconnected and unusable. I was really expecting more from the hotel, given how high the ratings are. Even if nothing could be done to change the rooms, a good hotel will usually try to make it less painful with a fruit basket, free pool pass, breakfast... Not that I'm looking for a handout, but I've never stayed in a five star hotel that did so little to remedy a situation. I actually felt embarrassed that I had booked a place that really did not care how inconvenienced we were.
The swimming pool was amazing
The warm welcome from receptionist when we arrived. She did her best to facilitate an early check in as we had a very early flight. Beautiful flowers in the foyer. The staff at breakfast were equally outstanding. Beautiful view of the canal at breakfast.
Perfect hotel in a perfect location.
