Guide was great lots of information given throughout the trip. Justin told us about his hometown and really interesting stories from growing up and his experiences on the island. Great playlist for the trip. Sandwiches were great. None of us got car sick so credit to Justin. Mahalo for such a great trip!
super excursion avec une super guide
Great tour! Learned all about Maui and went to some awesome locations!
I wouldn’t recommend this trip to anyone in my life. The driver Ed unfortunately was very rude to me when he picked us up. I was told by the company that pick up time would be “6 am ish” and so when we got downstairs at 6:06 am, Ed went on for 3 minutes about how we were late and would have to reschedule us. I showed him the text where I was told “6 am ish” and he later apologized for his rudeness. While he drove the Road to Hana with expertise, the rest of the time he was unsafe, cutting people off, honking, and texting on his phone. He also would not set proper expectations of the trip, kept asking the group what we wanted to do when we were all tourists and relying on him to take us to good stops, and kept telling us we were going to hike when we didn’t hike at all. On top of everything, the drive was nauseating and unpleasant. The 2 beach stops we did were beautiful though and the most enjoyable part, however not worth the price and drive.
We had an amazing day with Thomas as our guide. We had several stops including multiple lookouts, a waterfall, black sand beach, a beach with turtles, several stops at local food markets with the famous banana bread. Throughout the day, Thomas made sure we had food and drinks, and he was very knowledgeable about Hawaiian history and the Road to Hana. Highly recommend this tour!
The tour guide was good, but we had quite a few mishaps. Apparently our original tour guide got sick so they wanted us to tour the following day. We had something scheduled for then so could not. They said it wasn’t a problem, but when we got to the meeting place, there wasn’t room for us. Ultimately, our tour guide dropped his wife off and drove us in his minivan. He was a nice guy and funny, but my whole family couldn’t hear what he was saying. He had some car troubles as well, and we were concerned we wouldn’t make it down. All in all good, but it was definitely a bit stressful and rocky considering the amount of money we spent for a family of five.
Knowledgeable guide, a bit too biased towards “mainlanders” with some punchy comments which were unnecessary. Felt like we could have spent more times at the black beach and less at food stops where hardly anyone wanted to buy food anyways.
Very interesting, informative and pleasureable excursion. The guide was upbeat and well informed. Made us all feel welcomed. Driving it yourself would miss out on so much. The excursion was relaxing.
