Well worth the money for the once in a lifetime experience! The pools are set against a picturesque, mountainous backdrop. Transportation ran smoothly. Highly recommend this if you don’t want to rent a car or take public transport.

It's essentially a bus transfer. In that, it works well: Timely, reliably, good bus, and you don't have to figure out where to park or if your rental is allowed on that road or wether you're being charged the correct or the gringo price. That said, it's also not more than that, and for "just" a transfer, the price seems a little on the high end, since really nothing else is included and has to be paid extra, and the guide doesn't tell you anything (zip, nada) about the place with the exception of what to pay where and when to be back at the bus. As a side not, it would be nice to have a more coordinated meeting point to get to know the group beforehand. Not be understood wrong: The meeting point is easy to find, but everybody will be scattered around wondering if their Viator is the same as your GYG tour, and once everybody is on the bus, conversation will be slower to start.

Good value for money, but just a transfer to the pools, no guide

There really wasn’t a tour, the guide just told us to meet back at the van at a certain time, so it was all self guided. I thought it was fun! I also thing it could be dangerous like any national park back in the states, there were very little guard rails or anything to prevent you from walking right up to the edge of the cliff and falling off, and I saw a lot of influencers on the edge of the cliff, making videos, and the wind was quite gusty, and I was predicting that any moment someone would die! I thought it was fun. I didn’t go on any of the trails. Some other people on our Tripp did and they said they were basically no signs to tell you how many kilometers the trail was and I’m glad I stayed at the top and just swim in the natural pools

This was a great way to see Hierve el Agua. It was a great amount of time and a good balance between a guided hike and free time to explore on your own. Both our guides - on the bus - and for the hike, where extremely kind, informative and helpful. The only thing I will mention is that they recommend you pack a lunch, but there is ton of food and drink available when you arrive, so that's really not necessary. I would recommend this excursion!

For me, it's not a must-see in Oaxaca. It's essentially a short hike and some very touristy natural pools. The guide gave us 2h30 of free time, so there was little added value. I find the price a bit high for the service/attraction.
