Recommendations on the best activities to do in Medellin
Sebastian was an amazing guide! Comuna 13 was really exciting - we also watched two engaging shows from the local community and stopped for street food. I do worry no other cities on my trip will come close to the Medellín experience!
I was hoping to learn more about the area and history. Guide provided very little information. The actual time in the Comuna was very short and didn’t see or experience much. Instead of getting the transport back with the tour I stayed along with other people from the tour as it was underwhelming. Got to experience so much more in the couple of hours of self exploring which was really enjoyable. Music, street performers, street food, shops and souvenirs.
Good
This was an excellent tour! Sebastian was very fun and informative, showing lots of passion for Comuna 13 and Medellin as a whole. He was very kind and encouraged us to try many authentic street foods. Additionally, safety was his utmost concern, even going out of the way to take our group of female travelers to our next destination after the tour. He also gave many suggestions that were attentive to our interests, such as fruit markets and restaurant recommendations.
The tour did not follow the itinerary at all, no dancers, no coffee tasting, no street food. We got 10 minutes total to explore the rest was just walking up stairs and randomly sitting for 5 minutes. The tour guide barely spoke. Better off paying for your own transport and exploring yourself.
