Mayfair Native is a set of beautiful Victorian apartments tucked away down a pretty passage called Lees Place, literally two blocks from Oxford Road and minutes away from Marble Arch tube stop. The Mews house itself which is now 11 exclusive apartments, is on the historic Grosvenor Estate - and they have retained many of the buildings original features. It was the safest, most central base we have every had in London. The street was pedestrian only, so was quiet and felt safe to come and go late at night. Yet taxi's can drop you a few doors down where the road meets. Around the corner are some beautiful bars, restaurants and it is a 5 minute walk to a large M&S food to stock up and Selfridges is only a block away. The apartment was spacious with plenty of wardrobe space, a generous living area, dining table and bathroom was the best toiletries - you know they must be good if you try to buy them online before you check out!
Aug 2024Located right in the city centre & within walking distance to everything from Selfridges to the Palace Theatre, the hotel prides itself on having a retro vibe with subtle homage to nature, art & design. We stayed in the Club Deluxe room which was incredible spacious, with a huge floral canopy design over the bed & some very appreciated Ferrero Rocher by the coffee machine. The bathroom transported us miles away from grey Manchester with a waterfall shower & Rainforest design and there was some beautifully chosen design accents in the main bedroom such as a full length 70s mirror. We dined in the rooftop restaurant Sora, which specialised in Asian Tapas and cocktails. I can recommend the Dragon rolls Beef Fillet Tataki, & to drink, the signature Cherry Blossom Negroni. The restaurant does boast an outdoor rooftop area where you can take your cocktails outside whilst looking over the Manchester skyline and Albert Square.
