We spent 3 days and two nights at the Kingfisher Bay Resort On K'Gari (Fraser Island) in Queensland. It is located around 300 kms north of Brisbane and 215 kms north of the Sunshine Coast Airport. This was part of the Adventure package that cost $549 per person. It included: * 2 nights' resort hotel or villa accommodation * Daily breakfast * Return passenger ferry transfers ex River Heads ($80 pp return) * Full-day Ranger guided 4WD tour including morning tea, lunch and National Park Fees * Complimentary Ranger Talk * Secure parking for 2 night is an additional AUD $55 Note: you could do this one day tour from Noosa or Rainbow Beach on the mainland from AUD $225 pp. The hotel was built in 1992 and in terms of design and aesthetics is starting to show it's age. In terms of amenity, cleanliness and vibe, it's fantastic. It is 4 start and has 25+ rooms and villas. It features 4 outdoor pools, 3 restaurants and 4 bars. The reception of the hotel is on the mainland, at River Heads, just south of Hervey Bay. You also need to ride a ferry fo rabout 45 minutes to get to the resort on K'Gari (Fraser Island). Reception hours are from 08:00 am - 16:00 pm. It's recommended that you arrive at least 30 mins before your scheduled ferry departure time. The 3 day package is great value, saving a couple of hundred dollars if you we eto book the accommodation, ferry and all day ranger guided tour separately. The food was great with the Dune Restaurant being the standout. The hotel is part of the Accor Group, so with my Accor Plus membership I wa sable to get the food at dinner and 1/2 price as well.
