Here’s a bit of L.A. history I bet you didn’t know and with one of the most secret/underrated rooftop bars in the city. Welcome to the Wayfarer Hotel, originally known as the Ritz Hotel then the Milner / Ritz Milner. It was built in 1923 and before it even opened, two people had died in its construction, and in 1929, another tragedy would rock the hotel. Over the 101 years the hotel has been open, it has seen a major development in the area, it has played host to eccentric characters including a psychic named Gypsy, and reinvented itself *almost* as many times as a Hollywood actress. It may not have ever been the most glamorous of the hotels, but it is certainly, just as historic. Today, the hotel is living in its nicest era with it now being the home to @thewayfarerdtla which boasts one of my favorite (and most secret) rooftop bars in all of Los Angeles. Truly, if you are looking for a beautiful, chill, and delicious rooftop bar to spend a Spring or Summer evening in DTLA, this is the one you want to go to! ✨Sources✨ - The Los Angeles Times Archives . . #LAhistorygirl #losangeles #losangeleshistory #dtla #historichotelsofamerica #historichotels #hoteltour #rooftopbar #datenightideasla #thingstodoinla #datenightla #rooftopbarsinla #eaterla #condenasttravel #hotel
