After climbing Mt Kenya, we decided that a short vacation was well deserved to relax a little bit. Since we were already in the Nanyuki region of Kenya, there is no better place to go on a little getaway than at Fairmont Mt Kenya Safari Club which is most likely the most famous hotel in Kenya. From the moment we arrived, we immediately felt the long history of that establishment. We stayed in a beautiful suite, overlooking the rear of the property which had a cozy fireplace, incredible shower and very comfortable king size bed. The Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club offers many different dining experiences including their signature restaurant called Colobus which was incredible. You have to reserve one of your evening to try it out especially if you are going there for a couple getaway. In terms of things to go, the list is extensive. From golfing, to horseback ridding, maze, tennis and game drives, the possibilities are infinite. Definitely don't miss out the Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy Animal Orphanage. The work being done there is amazing and visiting them is the best way to support them. From a blind lions, to a three legged leopard and an abandoned baby mountain bongo, they are here to help the least fortunate animals.
