Sorry for being dramatic but I had to share these tips to save you the same frustrations we went through during our recent trip to Budapest. 🚃 YOU MUST VALIDATE YOUR METRO TICKET! You would think buying your ticket is all you need to do but infact you have to buy and validate your ticket before the Tram arrives to be safe. There are TONS of inspectors on the Tram salivating over catching people who didn’t buy their tickets or simply forgot/didn’t realise you have to validate the ticket. This happened on our trip and almost completely ruined the vibes of the trip it truly was an innocent mistake and was something we couldn’t understand being a big deal because we bought our tickets…but do to the fact we didn’t validate it we had to pay a fine. 📱 Download the BudapestGo app buy and validate your tickets! It’s also super convenient to plan out your trip ahead of time with their live updates on the travel schedules. You can also buy the group pass that allows you a full day pass on the tram so you can hop on and hop off whenever. 🚕 I actually didn’t take any taxis during the trip because everyone said they were super expensive. Instead if we were too tired to get the Tram, we’d order a Bolt instead which was super convenient and cheap!
