Here is my list for top things to do in Osaka, Japan! 1) Shinsekai District - this area of Osaka literally means "New World" in Japanese and was built in 1912 to be an ultra modern entertainment district. The ironic thing is today, it feels very retro, nostalgic, and distinctly Japanese. The whole area feels like a carnival with festive designs, floats, bright lights, and many games. The popular food of the area is "kushikatsu", which are fried skewers of veggies or meats. Walking around this area at night is a must! 2) Osaka Castle - this is a massive Japanese Castle that is a symbol of Osaka. It is a beautiful sight to see and even has a moat surrounding it! There are also gardens around the castle, a shrine, and many other scenic areas. It did not disappoint 3) Okonomiyaki - this six syllable word is fun to say and even more fun to eat! This is a Japanese savory pancake that originated from Osaka and is SO DELICIOUS! Luckily, there are numerous places in Osaka that made vegan versions of this mouthwatering dish. Osaka is also known as the kitchen of Japan, so be sure to indulge in the food scene here!
