Follow along as we explore Mexico City's Historic Center with the help of a GPSMyCity walking tour✨ Discover the World with Us! 📍 Location: Mexico City, Mexico 💰 Cost Category: Budget - Free In this walking tour we check out 13 iconic landmarks in Mexico City's Historic Center. This is a fairly easy tour as there are really no elevation changes to deal with. We spent a bit more than the suggested time because we explored inside a few - Metropolitan Cathedral, Metropolitan Tabernacle, Temple of San Francisco - but it was still an easy half day activity. We use the GPSMyCity guided walks whenever we can, they usually are pretty good (The Harry Potter themed walk in London was a notable letdown) and give a sense of what locations may need further exploration. A couple of the landmarks on this tour are closed on Mondays so, keep that in mind. Mexico City's Historic Center is a pretty huge area to explore and it is easy to miss certain truly significant landmarks because it all so distracting. There are seemingly historic buildings everywhere you turn. We stayed at Hotel Catedral, and we’d book it again in a heartbeat. It was within walking distance of major attractions, had an incredibly quite and comfortable room in the Pyramid Tower, and came with a solid (included) breakfast buffet. Plus, the restaurant downstairs had great food at reasonable prices.
