Almost nothing about this trip abroad has been easy thus far, but that being said, being in Italy for the first time is surreal. 🇮🇹✨ Fun fact - my family emigrated from Palermo in 1893 and despite having deep Sicilian roots, I never thought I’d actually visit the island. So to come here for a wedding of one of my dearest friends and get to sit at a giant family style table and eat for hours with a bunch of Italians…I don’t know how to explain it besides it feeling like I was tapping into some deep ancestral experience. I’m very grateful that I was able to pull myself together enough to enjoy the wedding, the location and the gorgeous weather the marriage gods bestowed for my friends big day!!! (Also LOOK at the view from our balcony!) Highly recommend the @iblaresortboutiquehotel if you’re ever in Ragusa!
