On an island filled with private villas and luxurious hotels, we were concerned about finding affordable accommodations that fit within our backpacker budget. We were thrilled when our friend @itsmaggieharris found us a room at @umala_at_bisma, where we stayed for a week. The owner, Yanik, went above and beyond, recommending things to see and do and acting as our personal chauffeur. Though the staff spoke limited English, they were amazing and did everything they could to ensure we had a great time in Ubud. We enjoyed our stay so much that we wanted to return after a quick trip to Canggu, but they sold out. That’s unsurprising, considering the central location, comfortable beds, and friendly staff.
