The term Shinrin-yoku was coined by the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries in 1982, and can be defined as making contact with and taking in the atmosphere of the forest. Slow traveling is to soak in everything that both a place and the road leading there have to offer. It's about taking the time to reflect and engage with the now, not rushing, not taking for granted, and not doing anything unless you want to.
