Palihotel Culver City

The location was terrific, an easy walk to all Culver City has to offer.

The staff was often unhelpful. I needed change of some bills so I could tip housekeeping and the valet parking attendant , and the desk clerk told me the hotel was cashless—I could try getting change at a store a couple of blocks away. When I first got to my room, which was late in the evening, I had a question and called the front desk. No one answered. Likewise, when I was trying to check out 3 days later, the desk clerk was gone with no indication when she’d be back. This was at checkout time—11 a.m.—and was particularly a problem because my luggage was in a locked closet by the front desk. The valet parking attendant was also gone. (Given the $48/day charge for parking, this seemed particularly problematic.). Eventually, I had to grab my car keys from the valet cabinet which had been left unlocked and took my car without the aid of the valet attendant. I realize this is a small boutique hotel so doesn’t have the staff of a full-size hotel but it seems to me having the front desk staffed at checkout time should be a priority.

Fantastic location.

The outlet next to the bed where you might want your phone to charge is 12 inches off the ground under built-in wooden shelves, meaning you have to almost lie on the ground to plug something in. This could be remedied with a power strip bedside, The staff sort of kept to themselves, rather than being open and greeting guests.
